Some people swap careers along the way (I still have time) but I’ve spent the last 20-some years pursuing simultaneous careers instead: theater with Grapefruit Lab, music with Teacup Gorilla, web design with OddBird, and several other arts on my own – including the pottery, prints, and novel on this site.

I enjoy bringing my perspective to a creative process – asking questions and forming opinions about each piece as it takes shape, then repeating the process. I’m interested in the ways a process and a material push back, forcing me to adjust and reconsider.

I have no interest in a world where I can conjure up exactly what’s in my head. Why bother? I’m constantly imagining the wrong things.
