Nebula dinner bowls

Four bowls stacked slightly askew. They have a glossy organic finish, which whites and blues flowing over a dark translucent red-brown – almost like an iris, or nebula. The inside of one bowl, with a red-brown rim and halo of flowing whites & blues even more eye-like surrounding the deeper blue-brown pupil of the rounded inner bowl -- smooth and hemispheric. The underside of a bowl, with a deep inset foot-ring -- glazed with the same deep red-brown and floating blues. The foot angles out from a flat ring in toasty bare clay with dark speckles, then cuts back in diamond-like towards the outer walls. The outside of the bowl is textured with deep grooves around with red-brown peaks, and deep blue valleys. The texture ends abruptly about an inch from the rim, where the whiter glaze reveals a chattering texture over an otherwise flat ribbon-like lip. The four bowls stacked neatly fit so the inch-ribbon rim of each stacks against the previous -- each with a slight outward angle that catches the base of the next rim. Three of the bowls are stacked foot-to-foot and rim-to-rim, highlighting the nearly-uniform size of each. My small-m stamp is visible on the bare underside of each angular foot-ring. A fourth is bowl is leaning outward to display the flowing blues with organic splashes of white breaking red-brown over the rim. Three bowls stacked as though drying, one lip-down, and the others leaning with their rims against the foot of the previous -- showing the glazed base inside the foot-rings, and the textured sides. The fourth again is leaning bowl-out, to show off the inside form and nebula-like splash of glazes.

These bowls have a deep foot ring that’s easy to grasp, even when the contents are hot, and a texture that feels great in the hands. The glaze flows in nebula whites and blues on a deep space-like backdrop, and they stack perfectly in the cupboard.

Made by hand in Denver, CO with Speckled Brown Trout from Rocky Mountain Clay. Food, microwave, and dishwasher safe. Requires roughly one month production time before shipping.
