Nebula ramen bowls

2 in stock

We like the spicy pho from Pho 96 on south Federal – but these bowls are great for any large noodle salad or soup. The deep foot allows you to hold a hot dish comfortably, and the notches provide a resting place for your chopsticks.

Two large ceramic bowls neatly nested, with chop sticks set in shallow notches on the rim of the top bowl. The bowls have a deep foot ring that angles one at down, then back in for the bottom quarter inch which is left bare in a speckled tan clay.
One bowl is inverted, sitting rim-to-rim on the other. The rim diameters and placement of the notches match very closely. Both bowls have an inch-plus smooth rim, and then texture carved in overlapping rings down to the foot which is also smooth. The glaze pools in floating blues inside the texture, while breaking deep red brown over the high points. There's a blue-and-white nebula cloud dripping from the rim.
The inside is like a photo of space, with moments of dark red-brown and then a cloud of speckled blues and whites - with some splattered deep inside, and more dripping from the rim.
Inside the foot ring is also glazed. The bowl shown has a subtle glazed-over crack underneath the center of the bowl, only visible from below.
Underneath the other bowl is a similar crack filled in with glaze.
One of the two also has a small glazed-over crack showing on the inside of the bowl. The glaze breaks red-brown at the edges, highlighting the crack like a scar - but it is fully filled in, so the bowl remains perfectly functional.

Both have slight cracking inside the foot ring, and one has an additional crack visible inside. All cracks have been stabilized and glazed, and don’t seem to impact functionality. I prefer selling them as a set (give yourself a discount if you like) since they go together so well.

Made by hand in Denver, CO with Speckled Brown Trout from Rocky Mountain Clay. Food, microwave, and dishwasher safe.
