Butter bell

1 in stock

The best way to keep butter fresh at room temperature, so it’s easy to spread – and one of my favorite forms to make.

A butter bell sitting open, with raw brown clay on the outside, but a glossy speckled floating blue glaze covering all the interior surfaces of the cylindrical bell and wide jar.
Closed, with the bell lid hidden away, it appears to be a brown clay jar that angles out from the base, and then slopes in gently with a texture of grooved rings. Near the top it angles in more dramatically to a short vertical lip.
The lid is also angular, with the top slightly inset compared to the outer quarter inch. The rim is delicate, and inside the jar is full of color.
The foot of the piece is tidy, with an outer beveled ring and inset base -- my stamp in white just above the foot.

Made by hand in Denver, CO with a reclaimed mix of clays. Food, microwave, and dishwasher safe.
